Good afternoon
We have seen prices take a big drop as new crop is starting to become available. On barley we have dropped from a high of $5.75 fob farm east of Carberry in early July to the current levels of $4.00 picked up. Wheat has followed barley down as well. We sold good wheat for $6.40 picked up in eastern SK (Fairlight) in early July. Now we are getting bids of $5.80 picked up Macgregor for good 11 protein wheat. I don’t know if anyone will need barley or wheat going into next year but maybe now is the time to think about your requirements as there is good quality grain available. I think we will see prices move up once harvest pressure is over. Let me know if you might need some and I will keep an eye open for large volume lots of hog quality grain. One thing I am wondering is if any of you have considered feeding yellow peas in your rations. Prices for yellow peas are in the $6.00 bus for good quality peas picked up in western MB. We have access to a good supply of them. I would really appreciate it if anyone has vom, and bushel weight results. I am very interested in the quality of the crop. Until next month. Have a good and safe harvest. Richard Chambers Quality Grain Marketing 1-204-729-1354 -Office 1-204-761-8320 - Cell [email protected] Comments are closed.
