Good afternoon,
We have seen a lot of feed grain come to market in the past month. The problem is that most of the feed wheat, barley and oats are any where from tough to damp. This is going to lead to issues in quality when this grain starts to move. We already have seen some oats with heat damage and bugs. We have been seeing discounts of $5/point moisture up to 17 moisture. After that rejection. Good dry feed wheat is trading for $5.35 picked up in western MB. Feed barley is $3.80 in eastern SK to $3.95 in Brandon area. That is dry, 48 lb, low vom. We have been sourcing feed yellow peas for $245/MT delivered into the Winnipeg area. if someone is interested in peas for their ration they should book what they need as we are seeing a bit of strength in that market into the new year. We have been seeing 48-51 lb corn in western MB. Not sure on the vom levels as we don’t have results back yet. I have heard there is vom in some of the MB corn. We have been seeing vom levels of 2 ppm in corn screenings that are coming from Minnesota. For anyone looking we can deliver low vom barley for $210/ MT and low vom wheat for $218. This would be dry and good bushel weight. Richard Chambers Quality Grain Marketing 1-204-729-1354 -Office 1-204-761-8320 - Cell [email protected] www.qualitygrain.ca
