June 2019 - Feed Update

Just a short note this month.
 
We have been trading barley delivered into the Elie area for $267
 
Wheat is trading for $247 delivered Brandon area.
 
Corn has been offered at $250 delivered west of Brandon.
 
We are seeing bids from feed mills of $252 picked up in Western MB for barley.
 
New crop bids for both barley ($206 south of Brandon) and wheat ($220 Brandon area) are much lower.
 
The Alberta market is still driving the high feed prices but their new crop prices are much lower. We traded barley at $280 picked up in the Vulcan area with new crop picked up bids of $220 in the same area for Sept/Oct movement.
 
If you need any feed grains between now and harvest it is likely better to buy now as supplies are getting short. Especially for good heavy barley.
