Good morning,
With harvest under way we have seen prices continue down through out August. Feed barley bids are $3.75 in western MB to $4.00 in eastern MB. This does not mean that producers are selling unless they have odd loads that wont fit in their bin. We have producers in eastern SK who would sell barley at $4.05 picked up if anyone is interested. It is 50#, dry, <.2 ppm vom. It would need to move first half Sept. We have been seeing feed wheat prices drop as well. We have been showing producers bids of a high of $5.45 in eastern SK (Fairlight SK) to a low of $5.25 in the Yorkton area. These prices are not good for the grower but should help livestock producer. We have seen yellow pea bids drop to under $6.00 picked up in western MB with similar bids in eastern Mb. I would appreciate it if someone would let me know what price level yellow peas would have to be to pull into your rations. We do have a source of pea chips from a splitting facility that would deliver into the Portage/Elie area for $185/MT. This would be available on a regular basis. I have attached a picture. We have traded some corn in the $5.50 picked up eastern Mb range. Down from its high but still not real cheap. We haven’t moved any soymeal so I don’t have any current prices. Give me a call if you need another source of feed grain or are looking to market your surplus. We also can help find trucks if need be. Until next month.
