September feed barley update - mb

Good morning
 
We are seeing some pretty reasonable barley offers right now. As an example. $202.25 ($4.40) delivered to Elie MB area. This is for 50 lb, dry, <.2 ppm vom, no ergot, no sprouts barley. Delivered in Sept/October timeframe.
 
I mention the no sprouts as a lot of the barley that we will be seeing going forward will be sprouted and possibly tough. I have had producers show me barley that has sprouted standing.
 
There is going to be lots of barley around but if you want good, hog quality this might be a chance to latch on to some of your requirements.
